Firehill discuss their latest single

Coworkers, tuned pals, turned band mates, Shawn Doll and Adam Bruce are a Maine based duo who have written over 200 genre-blending pieces together, (music and poetry).

"Somebody's Bitch", the second Firehill song to hit the streets, is a club-hit about dismantling a corrupt system. The song is infectious as it is empowering; fun as it is important. Gentle, almost haunting vocals with lines that capture an entire feeling; "I wish I was rich". Quick, clever words and a driving beat that lead us into a powerful hook that instantly cements itself into your brain.

We look forward to following Firehill as more of their music rolls out!

1. What can you tell us about the new release?

"Somebody’s Bitch" was created as a way to give the finger to the man and create independence and freedom, or the feeling of such. Maybe leaving a long time job, a long time relationship or just turning a new page or simply questioning what doesn’t make sense.

2. What was the process of creating the song?

'Somebody’s Bitch" was created as two independent artistic thoughts. Shawn wrote the 3 lyrical verses to an untitled song around the time Adam woke up with the chorus in his head when the alarm went off. Not long after, Adam wrote the music, and that driving, catchy bassline and the song took off.

3. What was the most surprising thing about the process?

How our two different approaches merged into one song that came out sounding a bit rapp-ish, which is really not the genre we expected to create….maybe ever!!

4. If you had to dedicate the song to someone, who would it be and why?

Shawn: I would dedicate this song to my good friend who died too early, Scott Lander.

Adam: I would dedicate the song to Shawn. Shawn was a Senior Vice President in the financial services industry, but left to pursue opportunities that were more fulfilling to him

5. What can fans expect next, musically or otherwise?

We are always creating new music and collaborating with local musicians, but our plan is to release 6-8 songs by the end of 2021 and go from there. It is all very new to us and we are just enjoying the experience of sharing our music with others all over the globe.

6. What do you do when you're not making music?

Shawn: I spend a lot of time with family and love to work with my hands doing manual labor such as painting and landscaping.

Adam: Enjoy spending time with my family and playing golf
